Contact SupplierThe COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) Digestion Unit is a compact and efficient laboratory apparatus designed for the precise digestion of wastewater and industrial effluent samples as part of COD analysis. Constructed with a chemical-resistant powder-coated body or stainless steel housing, it is engineered for durability and long-term use in harsh laboratory environments. The unit typically includes 6 or 12 heating blocks, each compatible with 16 mm COD vials or test tubes, ensuring uniform heating across all samples.
Equipped with an integrated solid-state digital temperature controller, the unit allows precise control of digestion temperatures—usually programmable up to 150°C ±1°C. It features a preset timer (up to 2 hours) and an automatic shut-off system, ensuring safe, reproducible digestion cycles. A fume hood or air condenser manifold is often included or available as an accessory to safely vent acid vapors produced during digestion.
Ideal for use in environmental labs, wastewater treatment facilities, and research institutions, the COD Digestion Unit ensures compliance with standard testing methods such as APHA, EPA, and IS protocols, delivering accurate and consistent results for water quality monitoring and regulatory reporting.
