• Colistin Sulphate – 100 mg (equivalent to Colistin)

• Excipients – Q.S.

Description

Colistin (Polymyxin E) is a potent polymyxin-class antibiotic. It has both hydrophilic and lipophilic properties that interact with the bacterial cell membrane, displacing ions in the lipopolysaccharide layer. This disrupts the membrane structure and causes rapid bactericidal action.
It is highly effective against organisms such as E. coli, Pseudomonas, Haemophilus, Salmonella, and Klebsiella.

Indications

Effective for treating:

• Gastrointestinal infections

• E. coli, Pseudomonas, Haemophilus, Salmonella infections

• Prevention of bacterial diarrhoea

Dosage & Administration

• 1.5 to 3 g per 10 litres of drinking water

• Duration: 3–5 days

• Medicated water should be consumed within 24 hours

• Or use as directed by a veterinarian
