Combined Instrument Transformers

The combined instrument transformer (CTVT) offers the station designer the ability of being able to accommodate the current transformer and the voltage transformer in one free-standing unit. This allows optimum use of substation space while yielding cost savings by elimination of one set of mounting pads and support structures. In addition, installation time is greatly reduced. Meets all latest IEC and IS metering and protection classes, including special core classes (other standards available on request)

Low weight & minimum oil volume design. Available in both single phase and three phase design

High accuracy up to 0.1 and 0.2s class. Rated primary currents up to 3000 A

Rated secondary current 1 A or 5 A. Rated short circuit withstand up to 40 kA for 3 secs

Highly refined and processed oil/paper insulation system. True hermetical sealing

Uniformly distributed secondary windings guarantee accurate transformation at both rated and high currents

Stable accuracy over a long period of time

Successful field experience since the manufacture of the first CTVT in 2001

CTs are virtually maintenance free during a long lifetime

Only one foundation required in the switchyard as a consequence of combining the voltage and current sensing functions in one transformer
