While the most prevalent form of compression spring is a straight, cylindrical spring made from round wire, countless other forms are produced. Conical, barrel, hourglass and heavy duty compression springs are available, with optional variable spacing between coils. Round, ovate (oval), square, rectangular and stranded wire are available. Numerous material types are available to select from such as music wire, stainless steel, titanium, chrome vanadium, chrome silicon, copper and Inconel.
