Constant Voltage Transformer

Constant Voltage Transformer works on the principle of magnetic saturation also called as Ferro-resonance. This is achieved when inductance of transformer coil matches with capacitance of capacitor connected across it. In Constant Voltage Transformer, the flux in the primary magnetic circuit is accompanied by unsaturated core material, as in a conventional transformer.
The secondary flux, however, encounters saturated iron (caused due to resonance). Therefore, a change in the primary flux caused due to voltage fluctuations, produces far less than a proportionate change in the secondary flux. Thus, the secondary induced Voltage remains relatively independent of the voltage impressed upon the primary winding.

Recommendations :
Keep magnetic storage and display devises like diskettes, spools, monitors etc. away from the CVT.
