Kitra Industries was established on 15th August 1963 in Surat, Gujarat, India. With years of experience behind us, we are the company that you seek for Die-cast copper rotors. In fact, we are the first in Asia to manufacture die-cast copper rotors and the only company in India.
Although we manufacture other products, in 1980 we felt the need to make aluminum die-cast rotors to meet the requirements of electric motor manufacturing companies. Ever since then, we have met the market requirements both in terms of quantity and quality. We have another manufacturing facilities for die cast Aluminium rotor at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, INDIA since 1992.
However, rotors made of aluminum used up a lot of energy, were under a lot of thermal stress and hence were not durable even when the best of raw materials were used. This is where our ingenuity comes in the picture. Using the same basic design, we have substituted copper in the place of aluminum and have seen a spectacular increase in the efficiency of motor rotors.
Initially it was difficult to melt copper as it has a higher melting point than aluminum. However, technology has seen a breakthrough in making copper die casts and this has also aided in bringing down production costs. So even though we are the only company in India to manufacture Die-cast copper rotors, we still sell them at reasonable rates.
Copper rotors can be made smaller than aluminum ones and have a longer life as they produce less heat and have minimal thermal stress. Copper has a higher rate of electrical conductivity and can hence use less energy while in use. Industries which need to economize on energy find it useful to have copper rotors in their motor applications.
