Cornwall Longwool Sheep

Classed by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust as both local and vulnerable, the Devon & Cornwall Longwool was so at risk that the two county breed societies combined to help the continuation of the breed. The fleeces are among the longest and heaviest of all the British breeds and the fleeces are coarse. The wool has to be chopped and blended for processing and we use it to make a tough, sustainable garden and craft twine (link is external) which uses the lamb’s wool.
