Delinting is process of removal of short fiber from the cotton seeds before sent for oil extraction from cotton seeds. The process is perform in three stages:

Cotton seeds are passed through delinter machine; this removes substantial part of short cotton fiber.
Partially Delinted cotton seeds are then passed through brush delinter machine that generally comprises 6% short cotton from cotton seeds.
In the process of Delinting the output of 2nd cut cotton linter, staple length is 2 mm. to 5mm. Maximum.
