Lobia, also known as Cowpea or Black-eyed pea, is a versatile legume widely cultivated for its nutritious seeds. It thrives in warm climates and is popular in Indian cuisine.
Care Instructions for Sowing and Planting:
Sowing Time: Cowpea seeds are best sown directly in the soil after the last frost date when temperatures are consistently above 15°C (59°F).
Location: Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Cowpeas can tolerate various soil types but prefer sandy loam with good organic content.
Sowing Depth and Spacing: Plant seeds 1-2 inches deep and space them about 4-6 inches apart in rows spaced 18-24 inches apart.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during flowering and pod formation. Reduce watering during rainy periods to prevent waterlogging
