Western Hills Spices is situated in the Lower Pulney (Palani) Hills in Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu, India. The Coffee Planted Area in Pulney (Palani) Hills around 16312 hectares of Arabica and 882 hectares of Robusta which will produce yearly 7,550 MT of arabica coffee & 355 MT of Robusta coffee.
Apart from coffee other plantation/horticultural crops like Cardamom, Orange, Pepper and Banana are framed in an integrated plantation model. The coffee bushes grow under a carefully maintained natural shade of the native tree species like Artocarpus heterophyllus(Jack), Terminalia bellarica (Thandi), Syzgium jambolana (Nava), Cedrella toona (Santhana vembu), Acrocarpus fraxinifolius (Nelarae), Pterocarpus marsupium (Vengai), and other trees, such as Gmelina arborea (Kumul), Erythrina lithosperma (dadap) and Grevillea robusta (Silver oak).The rich flora of the estate supports an abundant fauna, including a number of species of birds, butterflies, honeybees and other useful insects, amphibians, reptiles and mammals.
Mr. G Athithan born in 1957, who had a vision that was ahead of his times. He did not want to be ordinary. Even at the age of 21, he wanted to achieve something much more, even though his circumstances were limited. Without a formal education, by sheer determination and hard work, he built our business. He is a man who have a vision that the coffee and spices grown in the Palani Hills should be recognized by the world. He wants the glory of our coffee and spices to reach new heights. Hence, Wester Hills Spices was established in the year 2018 and is now become a leading supplier and exporter of Indian coffee and spices.
Every employee at Western Hills Spices is trained in handling the coffee plants as well as spices to achieve the finest quality of our product. Come January and it is harvest time at Palani Hills . The "just ripe" berries are hand-picked, pulped, fermented, washed and sun-dried on tables. The slow dried parchment is packed in clean jute bags and stored at an ambient temperature before further processing into clean coffee beans. we can ensure the highest quality standard even at the processing stage.
