Crimping Tool

The crimping quality is of major importance for a good electrical connection. Poor crimping quality will result in high connection resistance or a bad contact after some time. A good crimping connection is characterized by a completely controlled plastic deformation of both the wire and the barrel of the terminal. Crimping can be done using either hand crimping tools or crimping machines. Specialized Harness Products only processes terminals with crimping machines that verify quality using a CQM CFM system. These crimping machines have an adjustable crimping height to ensure the optimum crimping quality. During the process we carry out several quality checks on the following parameters: *Crimp Height *Wire Withdrawal (Pull Test) * Strip Length * Bell Mouth Size * Carrier cut-off * Cross Sectional Cut for actual crimping quality.
