Cross Flow Plate Heat Exchanger

The functionality of a cross flow plate heat exchanger is to exchange or transfer thermal energy among the airstreams in air-conditioning unit. It is generally utilized in ventilation or cooling system, where heat need to transferred from one airstream to another.

It contains thin metal panel generally aluminum in which the energy is exchanged through panels. It doesn’t allow humidity to enter in airstream, hence avoids the risk of short-circuiting.

Traditionally, A Cross flow plate heat exchanger is square & cross –section in shape having thermal efficiency up to 50-60%. It is widely used in various applications due to its less cost. But sometimes it is required to have more thermal efficiency up to 75-80%, so dual cross-flow heat exchanger will be more useful. These kinds of Heat exchangers are widely used in may heat recovery systems like in large hospitals, food industries, green building, Clean rooms ,Bar, Pubs, Mall, Commercial Places, Cold storage etc.
