The CSI Flex Abrasion Tester is the most suitable instrument for rating textile materials for resistance to abrasion when the material is flexed for a period of time. The Flexing and Abrasion Tester is intended for use in determining the abrasion resistance of fabrics when a specimen is subjected to unidirectional reciprocal folding and rubbing action under known conditions of pressure and tension. To evaluate a material, a standard test sample is placed over the flex bar and held by the balanced head on top and the reciprocating block at the bottom. The abrasion test is initiated via an Operator Console, until the specimen breaks. The CSI-39 automatically detects the break to end the test.
