Catechu extract is obtained from Heart Wood of Acacia catechu tree found in India.

Cutch extract contains Catechol type of tannins.

ATTRIBUTES

1) It is Catechol type (Condesed) Tanning material.

3) It is more astringent penetrates fast may be used for primary tanning.

4) It can be alternative for Mimosa OR Queberacho.

5) It yields dark colour brownish to reddish leather

TANNING PROPERTIES

1) It is catechol type tanning material can be recommended for primarytanning.

2) It is having high tannin Non tannin ratio.

3) It penetrates faster & better.

4) It is more astringent & dark in colour. It yields brown colour leather.

5) For heavy leather it can replaced with Mimosa OR Queberacho.

6) It gives excellent fastness to leather & protects from mildew attack.

7) It has given protection to leather against water & salts.

8) Cutch tannin is most suitable for Heavy leather, sole leather, leatherutilized in salty water conditions

DYING APPLICATION— It is widely used in tanning and dying of leather because of its fast,standardized and settled results. It produces brown and olive hues with different mordant. It hasresistance property to mildew attack.
