It consists of six-carbon cyclic molecule with a ketone functional group which is colourless, oily liquid having an odour similar to acetone and peppermint. It is an organic compound obtained through oxidation of cyclohexane or dehydrogenation of phenol. 95% of its manufacturing is used for the production of nylon.
