Dart Impact Tester

Presto’s Dart Impact Tester is used to determine the impact of load on a plastic film under specific conditions to analyze the effect of a free falling dart. A load of falling dart damages the plastic film under specified conditions. The testing instrument is widely used in plastic industries for judging the strength and stability of the plastic films and similar products.

Dart Impact is also known as impact failure load of plastic films is described as the load of the hemispherical shaped dart, falling on the plastic sheet or film held in a suitable clamp from a particular height, which causes the collapse of 50% of samples tested. Dart Impact Tester is a very beneficial tool for clearly controlling peak and normal strength characteristics to speed up the additives and production settings and adjustments, research and development of sheet and film materials.

PRESTO Dart Impact Tester is widely used by plastic film manufacturer for assessing the strength and durability of their plastic films, flexible films, sheets and similar other products. Works according to both Method-A and Method-B of test standard.

Presto’s Dart Impact Tester is a method to evaluate the strength or toughness of a plastic film. The test comprises of dart configuration and drop height with a different weight of the dart. Test results can be used as a quality control evaluation and also for end use assessments.

The dart is designed in a hemispherical form that can be dropped from uneven heights. It is held by  a electromagnetic dart holder which released by pressing a button from varying heights. A user can set the height of the dart manually. The result can be viewed from the digital panel.
