Insulation : High Density Polyethylene Pairs : Two Cores are twisted to form a pair. The lay of the pairs are chosen to minimize the cross talk, and structural return loss (SRL). The four pairs are further laid up. A separator between pairs is inserted in CAT-6e cable to minimize crosstalk between pairs at high frequencies.
