Debris Screen & Junk Cover locking style debris screen eliminates associated problems of debrisentering the tieback seal receptacle during the running and releasing othe liner assembly. Traditional style, insert type debris screens areprone to moving during run-in, particularly during verification of releaseform the liner or when setting a liner top packer. When moved from theliner top, debris is allowed to enter into an extremely close toleranceannular space between the running/setting tools and the tieback sealreceptacle which may result in the tools being permanently ortemporarily stuck. In a permanent situation, free point, back-off and milling operations are required to remedy the situation. In a temporarysituation, potential loss of the liner during retrieval and its unplannedreturn to the bottom of the well usually result in a costly fishing operationas well as damage to the liner casing. It has a locking dog assembly that prevents movement of the debrisscreen until the running/setting tools physically release the assembly. Amachined profile is provided in the tieback seal receptacle. A stainlesssteel well screen section provides a barrier to smaller debris during therunning of the liner.Unlike fluid cushion junk system offered by other companies, it is easilyinstalled in the field and requires no special handling or assembly tools. It is of heavy duty design and construction, ensuring a long, usableservice life. Standard configuration is for slip on installation over. API IFtool joints provided on all drill pipe handling nipples run with the linerrunning/setting tools assembly. It may be run in conjunction with a tieback seal receptacles, liner top packers and tieback seal nipplepackers.Â
