Defibrillator

This machine is used to treat cardiac problems. It is used to a give a prescribed dose of electric current to cure cardiac disarrythmia. It is also used for ventricular fibrillation. There are two types of defibrillators available with Biomedical Healthcare Limited. They are:-

• 1. Monophasic defibrillator- it is a chargeable device which has adult reusable paddles. The sine wave technology it uses is monophasic. It can deliver 35 shocks when fully charged. It takes 3.5 hours to charge fully
• 2. Biphasic defibrillator- the sine wave technology that this device uses is biphasic. This has both adult and paediatric paddles. This also takes 3.5 hours to charge and gives 35 shocks when fully charged.
