Having Portable Desiccant Dehumidifier are systems that allow for the quick removal of water vapor and excess humidity from the air. While there are many different types of models available on the market today, one of the more popular portable models available is that of a desiccant dehumidifier. These systems utilize a hygroscopic moisture absorption material to absorb water from the air. Typically these materials will be silica gel or lithium chloride. The unit will draw air in using a series of fans and the moisture will be trapped within the rotating absorbent wheel within the unit. Once the absorbent wheel has absorbed a high quantity of water it then rotates slowly and the saturated area is heated with an electric heater. In doing so the heater will be able to vaporize the water and dispense it out as warm humid air. Typically this air is carried outside the target area through a series of tubes.
