dmf is an important organic material and good solvent. It is used as solvent for man-made leather and chemical fiber, also used as material for synthesis of insecticide of high-effectiveness and low-toxicity, as gas absorbent to separate and purify the gas in petrochemical industry, as material of cortisone and vitamin b6 in pharmaceutical industry, and also as fixing agent in vapor-phase analysis. It also finds use as industrial solvent as well s for production of surface coatings, fibers, films. Further, it is also used as solvent in production of polyurethane, for formulation purposes in pharmaceutical industry as well as in production of surface coatings, synthetic leathers and fibers among others. Dimethyl formamide is used in the production of acrylic fibers and plastics.
