Distributed Acoustic Sensing uses Rayleigh Scattering to detect sound signals around OFC laid along with power cables underground or any other utility such as oil and gas pipelines, overhead power cables, etc. for security purpose. Applications: Power cables and pipelines for unwanted interference, leaks and flow irregularities. Oil well monitoring. Roads, Borders, perimeters can be monitored for unusual activities, etc.
