N,N-dimethylacetamide, also known as acetyl dimethylamine, acetyl dimethylamine, or DMAC for short, is a non-proton, highly polar solvent with a slight ammonia smell. It has a strong solubility and can dissolve a wide range of substances. It can be miscible with water, aromatic compounds, esters, ketones, alcohols, ethers, benzene, and chloroform, and can activate compound molecules.
