Dras is situated at a distance of 60 km from Kargil on the road towards Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir which is recently reorganised as a Union Territory of India. It is also known as the “Gateway to Ladakh”. What is interesting to know about this place is the fact that it is situated at a height of around 3,230m. Being the second coldest place in the world, it even experienced minus 60-degree Celcius in the year 1995.
