Ginger (Zingiber Officinale) is one of the most important and widely grown of the over 90 species of perennial rhizomatous herbs. It is mostly grown in South Eastern Asia extending to Queensland and Japan. Ginger is mainly used as a spice and to some extent for medicinal purposes. The Origin of the herb is not well known bu some people believe it is either India or China.
