Drotaverine Hydrochloride Injection (40 mg/2 mL) is a smooth-muscle relaxant (an isoquinoline-derived PDE-IV inhibitor) used to relieve visceral spasms in biliary, urinary, gastrointestinal or genitourinary tracts. It’s administered IV (slow push over 2–3 minutes) or IM, typically 40 mg once or twice daily, with dosing adjusted per response. Key precautions include monitoring blood pressure (it may cause transient hypotension), avoiding use in severe hypotension or tachycardia, and caution in glaucoma.
