Chlorinated paraffin wax (CPW) is a complex mixture of chlorinated n-alkanes with chain lengths varying from 10 to 30 carbon atoms. Residual chlorine the paraffin wax fractions derived from petroleum extraction produces CPW. The degree of chlorination can range from 30 to 70% by weight.
