Evaporator

Apollo has designed heat exchangers for Refrigerated Air Dryers to dry the compressed air. Apollo has designed 4 models of CPNR for compressor capacity of:

• 100 CFM
• 200 CFM
• 300 CFM
• 1000 CFM

These can be cascaded together in parallel for higher capacity compressors. e.g Six units each of 1000 CFM capacity heat exchangers together can be used for a compressor of 6000 CFM

This Heat exchanger works on the Principle of Air Cooled Condenser. In first stage, compressed air is cooled to 20° C. It is then passed through a second heat exchanger where it is further cooled to 2-3° C by exchanging heat with a refrigerant. Now, water vapour gets condensed & is separated and collected in moisture separator. The cooled air remains saturated at high pressure & low temperature of 2-3° C corresponding to -60° C dew point. The cooled air exchanges heat with incoming air in the first stage and thus gets reheated to almost room temperature; now the air is dry with low dew point of -60° C. This is also Known as Air Dryer Cooler.
