Wheatgrass Juice, For Human Consumption, Certification : FASSI Certified

Wheatgrass juice is extracted from very young shoots of wheat. It is a good source of non-calorie nutrition. Wheatgrass is high in vitamins A, C and E and essential minerals Iron, Magnesium and Calcium. Wheatgrass juice also contains fibres that aid normal digestion.
Animal studies have indicated wheatgrass juice as adjuvant in the management of blood  lipid imbalance. A human study done in India on hyperlipidaemic women showed that supplementation with  wheatgrass powder for 10 weeks led to reduction in total blood cholesterol levels.
Studies done on isolated cancer cells have indicated a possible usefulness of wheatgrass juice in the prevention and management of oral , cervical, breast and blood cancers. A human trial done on people undergoing chemotherapy, wheatgrass juice reduced risk of impaired bone marrow function. This meant that participants consuming wheatgrass juice had less hances of their bone marrow losing its function.
Animal studies have also pointed towards blood sugar lowering and weight reducing effects of wheatgrass juice.
 
Wheatgrass has been indicated to be useful for reducing haematological toxicity occurring due to chemotherapy in breast cancer patients. Wheatgrass has been shown to reduce the requirements of blood transfusion and improved quality of life of children with thalassemia.
