Ferrite magnets are produced from Strontium or Barium, and are a low cost alternative to other magnetic materials such as AlNiCO and other alloys. However, they offer lower energy levels (Br) and are brittle in nature. They can operate up at relatively high temperatures, and offer fairly good resistance to corrosion.
