Fiber Rope While there are many types of rope, Cable Industries specializes in nylon and polyester three-strand laid, eight-strand plaited, single braided, and double braided. Three-Strand Laid – Twisted rope is formed by coiling three strands together in the same direction. The fibers within each of the tree strands must twist in the opposite direction. Stronger than both manila and polypropylene, it is commonly used for pulling heavy loads and bearing the most weight.
