Fibreglass also called glasswool insulation is the most common insulation used to insulate roofs worldwide. Fibreglass Insulation is:

      ● Relatively inexpensive to buy and easy to install
      ● Has good heat and cooling properties and is
      ● Made from up to 70% recycled glass.
Fibreglass Insulation involves melting the raw materials, glass and sand at temperatures of around 1550ºC. The liquid glass is then spun rapidly and extruded out of small holes to form fibres. These fibres are then coated with a resin to bind them together and shaped into batts.
Fibreglass insulation is generally inexpensive insulation to buy and easiest to install - so it is no wonder it is the most common insulation used for homes and roofs.
The main environmental benefit of fibreglass insulation is that it is manufactured out of up to 70% recycled glass.
Fibreglass is one of the most resistant materials to fire - it requires extremely high temperature to burn.

Our new generation of glass woolTechnology is the result of five years of intensive research and testing. This development is part of our ongoing desire to provide customers with innovative products which also meet the growing market demand for more sustainable construction materials.

It represents the most significant step change in mineral wool insulation ever.

    Key Features of Fibreglass Insulation:
    • Relatively easy to install
    • Both Heating and Cooling properties
    • Reduces noise - Acoustic properties
    • Resistant to Fire
    • Resistant to Insects
    • Does Not Shrink

Fiberglass insulation is made from very fine strands of glass held together in a thick, random mat. Between the fibres are many small pockets of air. Aerolite insulation is manufactured from a combination of sand and up to 80% recycled post-consumer glass that would otherwise go to landfill. On average our fiberglass contains 50% recycled glass.
