The state-of-the-art, SMARTAUGE, detects the presence of flame or smoke visually at its source, regardless of airflow in the surrounding area. This presents a critical advantage for early warning fire detection, especially for challenging environments and open area venues. SMARTAUGE uses highly sophisticated Digital Signal Processing and Software Algorithms to process the live video image and interprets flame characteristics to detect an incipient fire. This unique software is capable of discriminating between actual Fire and other false sources such as solar radiation, flare radiation, electric arc welding, hot CO2 emissions, and black body radiation that may cause conventional detectors to give false alarms. The SMARTAUGE is a well-established state-of-the-art monitoring, investigative and administrative tool which provides live on-event and on-demand video feeds, annunciation of alarms with a precise location and visuals of areas and locations under alarm conditions It is also designed for easy search and playback of events stored in video archives for analysis of the events leading up to the incident.
