Flexure Testing Machine

A.100 KN Flexure Testing Machine – Hand Operated.
BIS-516. For Flexure Strength Test on moulded concrete flexure test specimens of 15 cm x 15 cm x 70 cm or 10 cm x 10 x 50 cm. size by third point loading method.

The machine consists of a welded steel frame. The hydraulic jack of 100 KN. Capacity is fitted with the top plate and its ram moves down words for load application. To the ram of the jack is attached to top loading beam with two 38 mm diameter rollers which can be placed at 133 mm or 200 mm centres for loading 10 cm or 15 cm beam respectively. The retaining springs are provided for the rollers and two retaining springs for the loading ram. A supporting beam with two 38 mm dia rollers is placed on the base of the machine. These rollers are also held with retaining springs and their centre – distance can be set either at 400 mm or 600 mm for 10 cm x 10 cm x 50 cm and 15 cm x 15 cm x 70 cm beams respectively.

A hand operated double action hydraulic pump with oil reservoir is attached to the right side of the machine. A 15 cm pressure gauge calibrated from 0 – 100 KN in 1 KN division is also supplied which can be fitted to an adaptor at the top of the machine. Supplied complete with an operating handle.

1. Similar to as above but provided with a motorised pumping unit housed in a separate console which can be connected to the loading ram or the flexure testing machine through a steel connecting tube.

The pumping unit is of double plunger type. All the moving parts of the pumping unit are housed in the oil reservoir, which ensures positive lubrication. The drive from the motor to the pump is through a V-belt. A separate single plunger hand operated pump is also incorporated in the unit for operation in case of power breakdown.

A 20 cm dia pressure gauge is fitted in the console at an angle for easy of reading and a maximum red pointer is provided on the gauge to record the load at failure.

A micro-switch to protect against overloads and a relay to avoid the accidental self starting of the machine, after a power breakdown on subsequent restoration of power, are incorporated in the electrical control circuit.
Suitable for operation on 220 Volts, 50 Hz., Single phase.
