The equipments are equipped with a mechanical draft tower along with a blower type fan at the intake. The fan used mainly forces the air into the tower; this creates high entering and low exiting air velocities that is susceptible to re-circulation. These are designed precisely to withstand high static pressure and can be installed in more-confined spaces even in indoor situations. There are some disadvantages also along with its unique features. The fan that is equipped is susceptible to obstacles due to freezing conditions. Beside this, the equipments require more horsepower than an equivalent induced draft design.
