G By Free Fall Apparatus

We offer g by free fall apparatus.
For determining the value of g by measuring the time taken by a falling steel ball. The apparatus consists of a release unit and a trip unit. Both these are fitted with 4mm sockets and can be readily clamped on to a 12mm diameter rod. The release unit is fitted with a small solenoid type electromagnet which holds a steel ball. The solenoid helps in the prompt release of the ball on being disconnected. The trip unit has a swinging plate and is fitted with a switch. The switch is normally held closed by a magnet and is opened when the ball falls on the plate. The time of fall is measured by a digital centi-second timer. Supplied complete with steel balls but without centi-second timer, retort stand and base.
