    Garam masala

    the blended spices in garam masala are pre-roasted, grounded with the following ingredients.

     

     

    ingredients

     

    • ½ cup black peppercorns.
    • ½ cup white cumin seeds.
    • ½ cup black cumin seeds (shahjeera).
    • ½ cup ground coriander seeds.
    • ½ cup ground ginger.
    • 5 tsp seeds of black cardamom pods.
    • 2 ½ tsp crumbled bay leaves.
    • 4 tsp ground cinnamon.
    • 4 tsp ground nutmeg (jaiphal).
    • 4 tsp ground cloves.
    • 1 gm mace (javitri).
    • 1-2 star anises.
    • 2 tsp asafoetida powder.
    • 4 tsp fenugreek seeds.
    • 4 tsp ajwain seeds.
    • 2 gms saffron threads.
    • 2 ½ tsp white salts.
    • 2 tsp black salt.

     

     

     

    note:


    • this masala is an appetizer. It helps digestion and balances gases, mucus and heat in the body.
    • to stimulate the appetite, heat 1 tsp of the masala in 2 tsp of ghee and eat with a piece of bread before a meal.
    • to prevent indigestion mix ½ tsp of this mixture in a glasss of warm water and drink 30 minutes before a meal.
