Garam masala is a spice blend used for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes. Even a small quantity adds a distinct flavor to the cooked dish. Some common spices used in preparation of garam masala include black & white peppercorns, cloves, bay leaves, cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, mace, and coriander seeds. It is used alone or with other seasonings.
