Gear Couplings are mechanically flexible and designed to compensate angular and parallel misalignment automatically. Gear teeth are generated by involute system. Adequate care is taken to maintain the uniformity of teeth profile and pitch. Normally teeth are crowned. upto size LGC3 both hubs and casings of couplings are made of steel confirming to IS: 1030. From size LGC4-45C8 IS: 1570. teeth are heat treated to hardness of HB240-280 as per IS: 1240.
