Gear Pump Test

The ‘Swarg Systems & Instruments’ unit is a self contained recirculating type unit. All the measurements are provided to evaluate the performance of the gear pump. Gear pumps are positive displacement rotary pumps, and are used at many places, especially where high pressures are required, like hydraulic power packs.

SPECIFICATIONS
1. Gear pump with 1/2 HP three phase motor with three speed cone pulley, mounted over the
sump tank.
2. Discharge measurement tank.
3. Pressure gauge for discharge head and vacuum gauge for suction vacuum.
4. Energy meter for power input.
5. Pressure relief valve in discharge pipe.
6. Needle valve to control discharge pressure.
Following characteristics can be determined.

• Speed V/S Discharge.
• Head V/S Discharge.
• Discharge V/S input power.
• Discharge V/S efficiency.
