gemcitabine hydrochloride injection is an anticancer medication used to treat various types of cancers such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and pancreatic cancer. The clinical formulation is supplied in a sterile form for intravenous use only. Gemcitabine stops the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting dna synthesis.\rgemcitabine hydrochloride injection is available in 200 / 1000 mg doses. It is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to gemcitabine or to any other components, in pregnancy and lactation. Patients should be monitored prior to each dose with a complete blood count including differential and platelet count.\rsome of the side-effects that may happen with gemcitabine hydrochloride injection is pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, urinating less than usual, nausea, upper stomach pain, etc.\rrecommended dose:\rgemcitabine hcl injection is given once a week by an intravenous infusion at a dose of 1000 mg/m2 that takes about 30 minutes and is given weekly for up to 7 weeks followed by a 1-week rest period.
