HOW TO USE:Swallow your gliclazide tablets whole with a drink of water. Do not chew them. If you are taking 2 doses a day, take 1 dose with your breakfast and 1 dose with your evening meal. If you are taking slow-release gliclazide, take your dose once a day with breakfast.
HOW GLICLAZIDE WORKS: Gliclazide, a type 2 diabetes by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin. It also improves the body's sensitivity to insulin, making it more effective at controlling glucose levels. Essentially, it helps the body use insulin more efficiently and effectively.
PHARMACOKINETICS OF GLICLAZIDE:Gliclazide is a sulphonylurea drug with an intermediate half-life of around 11 hours. It is extensively metabolised, and renal clearance accounts for only 4% of total drug clearance. The molecule contains an azabicyclo-octyl group which confers special properties on the basic sulphonylurea moiety.
