goldenseal soothes inflamed or infected mucous membranes, especially of intestine, gallbladder, urinary tract and vagina. Control canker sores, curtail colds, flu and other respiratory infections and reduces symptoms of sinusitis.
goldenseal has also been used for a variety of eye infections, including conjunctivitis (pinkeye). When taken internally along with echinacea, goldenseal is believed to boost immunity and reduce the risk of infections.
