Goliath Crane

Goliath cranes are used in places where fabricating overhead runways would be a costly affair, lengthy and difficult to maintain the alignment. It runs on rails mounted on ground and can be moved to new locations relatively easier than overhead cranes. However, Goliath cranes are expensive due to more usage of steel but they save on the cost of overhead runway. Applications: Ports Stockyards and scrapyards Construction sites Railway yards
