usha has introduced new kind of lifts ideally suited for handling of heavy goods. this new type of design using a hydraulic system is totally self contained unit & can be installed within a day. the equipment does not require any kind of special structure or columns in the building as required in conventional elevators since it does not
have any machine room. however, it has a limitation that at present maximum height of 10 mtrs. Is only available. another advantage of this kind of elevator is that all the four sides of the elevator floor can be kept open to facilitate loading operation from all four directions. Hence in the closed position the elevator becomes a part of the floor & normally movement of men & material can be carried out as if elevator does not exist since there are no guides or columns supporting this structure. the entire mechanism is below the platform itself. a lighter design of such self support
