Contact SupplierThe GPS system is used to track the location of a truck, car, or any moving vehicle. Vehicle tracking, which is widely used to keep track of truck fleets, ensures that the vehicles are being used properly and that they can be recovered if they are stolen.
Vehicle tracking is dependent on both GPS satellites and a cellular network. A tracking module in the vehicle continuously collects GPS coordinates that indicate the vehicle's current location. The coordinates are immediately transmitted to the tracking company's computers via a cellular data service such as GPRS. Customers log in to the tracking company's website to view their vehicles on road maps, much like in-dash and handheld GPS navigation systems.
