The continuous casting of non-ferrous and precious metals & the casting of gray iron represent an extensively used manufacturing method. This technique offers the benefit of non-stop production and ensures best possible material quality as a result of rapid solidification. Two very helpful characteristics are the uniformity of product structure and absence of shrinkholes. As the resulting cast metal surfaces are generally unblemished and smooth, extensive finishing is not typically needed.
