This instrument is used for determination of refining as freeness of wood fibre, ground wood Mechanical pulp and recycle fibers. It measures the drainage capacity of beaten pulp and checking the progress of beating process. This Model has Pneumatic arrangement which ensures, the constant lifting rate of the Sealing Cone. A Plexiglass Double Graduated measuring cylinder is provided to check the obtained Schopper Riegler value.
A stock dilution of 2 Grams/Ltr. is poured into the cylindric container fitted with Standard wire mesh screen. After 5 seconds the sealing cone is lifted through the Pneumatically controlled Lever and due to the acceleration, the water contained in the stock is drained through the wire mesh screen which passes through the bottom & side orifics. The Water collected in the Graduated Cylinder through the side Orific, reads the measure ( in SR ) of the draining capacity of the sample.
 
The equipment is intended for long fibered pulps that produce a dense fibre mat on the screen.
