It itself exhibits anti- inflammatory , analgesic, anti- microbial, anti – dyslipedemic, anti- atherosclerotic, hematopoietic properties. When administered internally it is known to be exhibit carminative, appetizing, diaphoretic, aphrodisiac and emmenogogue properties. Being oleoresin it has property to bind a number of Ayurvedic herbs and Bhasmas together without altering their therapeutic efficacy and safety & that made it obvious choice of Ayuvedic physicians to use it as binding agent to make pills.
