Himalayan Kashmiri Garlic, also known as Himalayan Kashmiri Garlic, Single clove garlic, Ek Pothi Lehsun is a specific variety of garlic found in the Himalayan region and one of the most powerful herbs known for its medicinal properties. Unlike other garlic it is a single clove garlic having a golden-brown outer cover / husk and inside is white garlic. Being a single clove garlic, it is also known as “Pearl Garlic”.
Kashmiri garlic has been a well-kept secret in the world of traditional medicine and cuisine Unlike its native white type garlic, Himalayan garlic grows in the high altitudes of Himalayas and is only harvested once. This variety of garlic has cloves that range in diameter from 1.5 to 4 centimeters.
Alliin and Alliinase are two compounds found in Himalayan Kashmiri garlic which together helps in production of another compound called “Allicin” due to which it has a pungent aroma. This makes the garlic 7 times more powerful than any other plain Garlic. This miraculous ingredient called Allicin, which not only helps fight illness but also decreases blood sugar, cholesterol, blood clotting, and kills cancer.
